Guy needed a massive nerf to his overpowered melee needs to be toned way down. I was getting owned with 2 paladins and 1 shaman healer. What are my healers doing wrong?

Put 4 healers on Maulgar tank.
Edit: I like to spam rank 7 Holy Light for the first part of maulgar. The first set of healers on Maulgar will likely start to run out of mana, but they will get some regen time as the adds go down and more healers are freed up.

Malgaur did get a slight nerf. His overall damage is still the same but he now attacks faster but hits for less. This should result in less spikey deaths. It's a pretty subtle change and will be mostly noticed by undergeared raids.

I wouldnt say undergeared raids would be the only ones to notice it, an arching smash and auto attack at the same time would often not even take the tank to 1/2 HP.

hmm....On several occasions I have been able to eliminate all crushing blows via shield block with my current gear or less. It takes really nailing every cooldown. Is this an attempt to speed up his attacks such that he will slip an occasional crush in anyhow? I guess what I am getting at, is it meant to be a little more forgiving on crushes and be more condusive to allowing bears and/or paladins tank him? Or tanks that have better gear than pre 2.1 but er.....don't nail every cooldown?

Tremendously. Note, however, that curse of weakness overrides it, which you don't want. Good luck with your pulls, manhammer :). We wiped at 5% monday night(had a kiggler tank take an emergency afk halfway through the pull =/).

Well we won't be going there again anytime soon as we need more people for him, but we'll get him ;).
I'll definitely keep demo shout up then; I wasn't aware of how much it helped.
