Is there or will there ever be more to the essence of eranikus quest line past the stuff in winterspring now or in the forseeable futue (in the next patch)?

i wish they'd finish the chain

but i doubt they will. definitely not in the next patch.

edit: just think, if they finished it, how would they handle all the item restore requests for all the people that vendored it or turned it in?

The questline was destroyed by the AQ gate opening line.

They will NOT be finishing it, and you will NOT be getting it back.

It is something we've brought up recently, along with other questlines such as "The Missing Diplomat".

While it is on the table, there are no immediate plans to continue these, as we tend to be building new questlines. While we agree that particular story-lines like these are interesting and something that really digs into and drives the lore, that can be done in other places, as well.

Continuing a questline of this kind would require players to have to go back and search for a quest-giver of lower-level than the player is likely to be at. The players who would benefit from this are those that are at the level range when the continued questline is implemented. While some may want to go back to places like Sunken Temple, the level disparity would diminish any sort of actual challenge the quest-line might have. If it is continued for a level-capped player, there is now a large gap between where the quest takes you for the first leg and when you can continue it on the second leg, from a leveling perspective.

Restoring the item is not really that much of an issue. If we were to continue a line, restoring any required items is already possible with current game technology and would be a primary consideration when designing a continuation.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

I know I'd go back and finish these chains regardless of level. I'd be doing it for the story, not any rewards.

:( Can you make plans to?

People do not "learn" to beat other classes, they just get better gear. The end. WoW is not that complicated.

The problem with Eranikus though, is that it was finished, by a completely irrelative questline.

You're looking at this with the perspective of "necessity" - that a player should feel a need to do whatever you guys are coming up with. Would I go back at 70 to get a lackluster reward just to follow the lore of a very cool quest chain? I probably would. Would everyone? No - there's no necessity.

That said, would it add more depth to currently levelling characters? Yes. New content amidst old content is *awesome,* and honestly is one of those "cool little things" that you guys have done so well in the past (dead dragons in BEM, the lore lines in Old Hillsbrad). I'd love to see quest lines like the two mentioned extended not for the sake of a 60 or a 70, but for the currently levelling characters to feel like they're getting new content and seeing new things, and to feel more in depth with an already awesome storyline.

In short: Not everything you guys make needs to be accessible or desireable for those currently at 70, as even those people are making alts and will see the new content.

"I was god once, you know."
"Yeah, I saw that. You were doing well until everyone died."

It has a sell value, though. (Yeah, most quest items don't.) So anyone who kept their item gets screwed out of 16 silver. :)

Anyway, time to get rid of it!

Solution: Heroic Sunken Temple.

I don't get it. You had NO problems making large amounts of content COMPLETELY obsolete before, as was shown by the expansion...
