Greetings folks.

The previous thread got a little crowded so I'm creating a fresh one, this should resolve the issue of not being able use the "next blue post" feature.

As a bit of background let me assure you that our technicians, database administrators and system engineers are well aware of the high latency on Mal'ganis which has been experienced mostly during prime time.

To put some rumours to rest I want to say that our investigations have shown that the Paid Character Transfer system, PvE to PvP transfers specifically have nothing to do with the current issue.

The population on Mal'ganis overall has changed very little. That is not to say you have not received your fair share of transfers over the last week and a half, only that the overall population (even during prime time) has had no significant change.

The Game Master Department has no influence over if or when compensation for this unexpected issue will be offered. If compensation is offered it won't happen until after the issue has been resolved, certainly not while it is ongoing. If compensation is offered it may be announced on your realm forum or the general forum but it is more likely that it will simply be added to your account. You can check if time was added by visiting the Payment History section of the Account Management site.

Free character moves will most likely not be offered due to this ongoing technical issue, if that changes a post in the General forum and/or main website will be made.

We understand the frustration that this has caused for everyone and we are sympathetic to your desire to find out answers and vent your frustration. We ask that you keep your comments civil and on topic and please include pertinent information whenever possible related to the latency you are experiencing. Unconstructive posts may be deleted without warning.

Q u o t e:

Please provide information for the following questions.

Where is the latency occurring? What instances? Which continents/areas?

What kind of latency are you experiencing? Is there a delay in actions, looting, spell casting, chat etc...?

Please let us know the general time you are experiencing the latency (give time zones if you can, Pacific, Central, etc...).

We can not thank you enough for your patience. This is a high priority issue and we will continue to work on it until it can be resolved.

Darnassus, 10:54 server time. Going between 295ms to 450ms. Lag in chat and world.

EDIT: Do you think you could sticky this thread? It's really hard to go looking thru pages and pages of threads to find it.

I'm a Mage. We make you food and water and give you ports. We are also to blame for all raid wipes and lack of DPS.

Man i was really looking foward to a free transfer , not just because of this lag because me and alot of others i know would just like to go to a low/medium server also knowing that when WOTLK comes out and knowing you got 20,000+ players trying to do there quest is not a happy though for me or them.

Guess i can hope there will be a transfer before WOTLK release.

You can actually bookmark any given thread, like this one, in your own browser. Then when you pull up the bookmark, it will show this thread - you might have to refresh using your browser refresh button, but at least you won't have to dig around.

The statement "this is the land of opportunity" has, sadly, been replaced by this one: "this is the land of entitlement".

so, and

is allowed but simply putting 1st page is not? not like they helped out fixing or providing info to this Mal'ganis issue either

No but I'm contributing to a positive attitude in a thread which in turn may help reduce some of the frustration the good people of MG are probably experiencing.

615 Sithilus (In the twilight camps) 450ish to 500MS
630 WPL flight from IF to WPL 390 ms
635 WPL/Scholo 320 MS until about 650
650 785 MS
705 Shatt (Raid Invites going out)
715 BT MS 750ish to 1400 ish
735 1st Najentus pull holding 1k ms
745 2nd Naj pull still holding 1k ms (ends the raid)

From 615 to 745 I had about 2-4 DCs that were due to lag

where as in a normal time span i might get a dc once a week sometimes twice, i typically play from about 6 CST to about 1145pm and off and on the weekends.

Mind you have 2 severs that I play on, Mal Ganis, and The Venture Co, and i only experience heavy MS while on Mal G.

I have better number tomorrow when we try to raid.

I would copy/paste my post from the other thread regarding your questions but the lag seems to have changed it's pattern since then.

Occurs: Everywhere; Arenas, Battlegrounds, 5mans, Raid instances. Most notable in heavy populated areas (shat city, sunwell plateau).

Latency type: Spellcast lag (anywhere from .5s - 15s delay), loot lag (intermittent), movement lag (your target is too far away???), chat lag.

Latency timing: Starts reliably at 7:30pm CST (300ms+), becomes unplayable (500-3000ms) until ~9pm CST. Intermittent lag spikes ranging from 300ms - 1500ms from 9pm CST until 11pm CST. Does not seem as bad on Fridays and Saturdays.

Thanks for trying to pay attention to this issue Vrak, but I'm afraid that blue posts alone will not solve the frustration the MG community is experiencing; we want something done, not just acknowledgment. A lot of people have quit/cancelled because of this issue, and it'll only get worse until it is fixed :(

edit: Oh yeah i forgot. Ever since this lag started happening (the day that pve->pvp transfers were enabled), there have been NO queue times. Before this started happening, it was pretty much expected that if you wished to login at peak hours (8pm CST or so) you had to face a queue of ~300. Nobody that I know of has hit a queue on login since this lag happened... issues related possibly?

The information isn't redundant if the problem changes or the situation shifts. If something changes comparison between the old/current information can provide more insight etc. Kinda just rambling I know but hopefully you see where I'm going with this :P
