0. Battle-Bot Pet Ready for Action 06/09/2009 02:15:50 PM PDT
This summer, Blizzard Entertainment is teaming up with Mtn Dew to offer World of Warcraft-themed Game Fuel in stores across the US for a limited time only. To celebrate, we’re giving away the exclusive Battle-Bot pet complete with red and blue battle fuel. Fuel up your pet with red or blue battle fuel and send it into battle against bots fueled by the opposing color. Get ready now because the streets of Dalaran will soon erupt with dueling Battle-Bots.
Head over to the Game Fuel website (http://www.mountaindewgamefuel.com/#/home) to claim your own Battle-Bot ignition key and red or blue battle fuel. Plus, you can earn tokens and enter for the chance to win great gaming prizes. Keep an eye out for bottles of World of Warcraft-themed Mtn Dew Game Fuel to show up in stores near you beginning this week. For more information, check the FAQ: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/faq/mountain-dew.html

To earn your pet:
1) Merge your Warcraft account with the Battle.net account
2) What's odd is that it doesn't appear you need to even be registered with the promotion to obtain the pet or the fuel...
3) The exclusive pet is available only between early June and August 20, and you many only claim the Battle-Bot Ignition Key on a World of Warcraft account (either trial or full account) that is tied to a Battle.net account. The account must be in the North American region, which includes the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and Singapore.
To redeem your pet, do the following:
1) go to the Dew website and click the 'bot link near the lower right (near the Alliance bottle)
2) this will take you to the battle.net page (you do need to have a battle.net account!)
3) fill in battle.net information - presto! you have your new pet - it will appear in your ingame mailbox across all the characters on your account (each account needs to do this separately)
4) each day return to the Dew website to claim some game fuel for your pet (click on same link) - it will follow you like a pet normally, but with game fuel it will be able to attack pets of the "opposite" faction
To learn more about merging your Warcraft account:
Go here in order to get step-by-step instructions on how to set up your battle.net account:
Once accomplished and your e-mail has been verified, there should be a "merge warcraft account" button on your Account Management page within the battle.net site (not the warcraft site!).
Problems?
*If you are having problems getting your battlebot button to appear on the website, try clearing your cache and trying again. If all else fails, go to http://www.mountaindewgamefuel.com/redeem.php

How about a guide for how to earn the pet? :)
Well, you don't really need to do much - but I'll go ahead and throw that up there anyway :)

Q u o t e: So do we just sign into the Mtn Dew website and it automatically gives us 5 fuels or is there something more we need to do?
Each day just go to the Mountain Dew homepage (no need to log in)- click on the same link that got you your bot - you'll be directed to the battle.net page.
It doesn't look like you even need to be registered with Mountain Dew to do this (?)! But you can only redeem one reward per day - so no one is going to be getting their fuel today - that all starts tomorrow.

Any news on if the ability to get a pet in a non-North American region is intended? It's currently happening though the FAQ you posted said the pet was limited to NA only

Q u o t e: Jesus said unto his disciples: "i will grant you eternal Salvation..."
and his disciples replied: "Give us Kings, noob."

Q u o t e: i'm not seeing the battle-bot button
Do you have the latest version of Flash? I think people have reported you need to be up-to-date with that.
If so, try deleting all your cookies and such. Sometimes that'll help.
