What has happened to us? No one has the answer?

Locks in naxx were always in the top 2 to 7 dps and damage done. Ulduar up untill hard modes were the same. Since then and into Toc, locks have vanished, guilds had 3 to 4 locks on roster now they have 1 raiding, and the others have changed mains to there alts. I have see no real buffs only to the other specs that have brought them into line with destro which is allready way lower then the other classes. With 3.3 in the real near future, is this going to be the trend, guilds bringing 1 lock to buff the raid and that's it? The devs, say they have the real numbers, but from every number I have seen and tested in PTR nothing has changed and we still are in desperate need of something.

Will the new tier bonus help? I doubt that will fix the problem. Will it be a case of fix the locks in cata, and not worry bout them now. The problem is there won't be any locks come cata to fix. the numbers don't lie, and it's a shame really, Warlocks were once a force, now just bring hybrids, they offer more and do more dps. The only thing now needed to finish of the locks, is to make a summoning stone into a scroll, then were completly useless. sigh
Go look at the numbers for a fight like Northrend Beasts. Jaraxxus is off because of Spellsteal. Faction champs are faction champs. Twins has a lot of buffs. Anub'arak rewards characters who can AE well.

But if you look at Northrend Beasts, you'll typically see a lot of mages, rogues, locks and hunters all at the top of charts, with the occasional Feral druid or DK. Your mileage will almost certainly vary. Gear, raid synergy, latency and player skill play into those numbers a great deal. Unless you are one of those players routinely putting out 8000 dps on 25 heroic Northrend Beasts, you'll probably see a bigger increase just by improving your own performance than you would see if we just buffed you across the board.

Now make no mistake: the specifics of the encounter matter a lot. It's hard to look at almost any boss and call that a "normal fight" given the diversity and mechanics of the encounters. If you dismiss most of the bosses as I just did above, then you're culling through your data set quite a bit. The more you eliminate data points the more skewed your results could potentially become. I'm just trying to caveat anyone looking at a list of numbers and concluding based on that alone that your class is too high or too low. Doing dps is a lot more complicated then some players give it credit for. If it was not, you wouldn't see nearly the volume of theorycrafting debate that you do.

I think it is clear that the current concept of a set bonus is well past its use by date. The latest nerf to the shaman T9 4 set bonus is only the most recent example of why the current set bonus method needs to be changed. Some suggestions that are way more logical;

1 Fix the set bonus for all tiers for each xpac. Build all the "omfg I want to upgrade" stuff into the items themselves.

2 Remove the set bonus all together and just give each tier item an extra gem slot.

3 Make it so that an extra minor inscription slot opens for 2 set and a major one opens for the 4 set bonus.
I think gear might get really boring if you didn't have set bonuses (and perhaps trinkets) to look forward to.

Somewhat boring gear is okay... to a point... in PvP, where you need to strike a balance between skill and gear. Players want to enter PvP thinking they have a relatively level playing field, but we still use the gear reward as an incentive to participate.

PvE gear is already relatively inflexible on primary stats. If anything I wish there was more variability from tier to tier. Players have become pretty intolerant though of gear that doesn't feel like an unambiguous upgrade. That's not intended as an insult to anyone. It's just the state of a five year old game. :)

I think it would be kinda nice for there to be level required forums. To avoid the level 1 alt trolls etc. It would be kinda cool for people too to "progress" in the community via the website and the game.

Over the years i have become reliant on my addons like power auras and mik battle text. I dont think i could function without them.

Anyone else an Addon Addict?

Yes. My current setup allows me to jump between modded (live realms) and unmodded (PTR) pretty easily so yes this is definitely possible. But I will add that I do love the mods that I use and generally make sure I have them whenever I am playing.

Yeah bad boy. I know fishing for blues is bad but this question has me and some other warlocks wrapping our brains around the new soul shard system and other concerns.

1. Will it be implemented in Cataclsysm or faded in through patches considering the seemingly huge gap in content?

2. Even with the new system will warlocks be given a secondary defense to fall back on, on a long CD should fear become useless?

3. Are there plans to link the system to a warlock pet? I know fel domination is one of them, but popping soul shards for more power for the pet are being considered? Example- Refreshing CD's?

4. What is going to happen to those spells that required soul shards?

5. Are there plans to change hellfire to an AoE knockback snare like a secondary defense warlocks can fall back on or will it be outright removed?

6. Are there plans to extend Inferno's duration similar to before where we have to enslave him, but with no capping prohibitions?

7. Are there plans to reduce slot problems with curses? Like CoT and CoEx being merged?

8. Are there plans to add dispel resistance to curses through talents?

9. Will CoD be modified to be castable on players? If so will you modify the damage/duration/CD on it or will it remain the same?

10. Do you plan on fixing the debuff problems to pets. The fact the duration on debuffs remain the same until the pet is out on the field while buffs continue their duration course regardless of the pet being summoned or not?

11. Will soul link be removed from the demon should it despawn/dimiss?

12. What are the plans for drain soul in the new shard system?

13. Are there plans to make enslave demon a little more viable for PvP and example is the doomguard and inferno?

I don't see there being much choice during a boss fight when a warlock uses the abilities that are enhanced by shard usage.

It'll be just like glyphs and talent trees. There will be required spells to use alongside required shard usage.

I don't see how someone can "mess up" when you only have a few shards.


The fight starts. You use your 3 shards. Then adds come. Or characters start to die and the fight lasts longer than you thought. And you're sitting there with no shards.

It's a little bit like asking "Why would a mage need Evocation? They should have enough mana for the fight."

The GF and I have two lowbie toons we started leveling a while back - mid 40s, mages, horde.

The problem is that the horde side of the server is mostly....dead. There just aren't as many people, less groups for anything....

It's not 'bad', I'm sure some people would prefer it - but we don't like it much.

Is there anyway for us to play on a server with more people (after all, this is a MMORPG) without paying some completely made up fee? I'm sorry but $30 dollars to change a 1 to a 0 in a database somewhere seems awfully silly to me.

Why do paladins get more stats on their tier gear then warriors.

Look at this.

Um what.... the two pieces are nearly identical, except the paladin piece seems to have more stats(Stam and Def) even tho they are the same item lvl? WTF!
Both items have 179 stam and 76 defense.

Generally, I might suggest "Is this a bug?" and not "Obvious bias!"

It s a little discouraging to be left out of the excitement regarding the Quel'Delar questline. Maybe give tanks a T-shirt for completing the quests. Make it say "I did the Quel'Delar questline and all I got was this stupid T-shirt" or something.

At least it would give tanks a reason to participate in the event.
